Yor Man Hamin (Yaar-e-Man-Hameen)……Poet: Mirza Muhammad Siyar

Translator: Zahid Ali Nizari Shotkhar Torkhow

I went over hilltops; I went through hot coals, o beloved.

I went on, crying bitterly; I went on, wiping the tears, o beloved.

Lips are ruby, teeth are pearl, your words are delightful.

The connecting cord of heart will break up and will slip into the body cavity.

Will it matter if you spend a couple of days in Shogram and go back to Reshun?

And certainly it won’t matter if you give me one of the two flowers in your hand.

The land of Reshun has borrowed hue from the ruby lips of my beloved.

My beloved asks: “Who is that hermit/beggar standing in the lawn?”

If you are a brimming mighty river, then I am the whirlpool in it.

I am the only one amongst your lovers, whose father and mother both have passed away.

Being looked at, from over the Zomosore (Hilltop), the green grass strips and fields of Reshun display their beauty.

How is it possible for the greenery and fields to look so lovely? It is my beloved’s lips and teeth display their beauty.

Neither fairies nor human beings are like you in beauty.

O Allah, it is Your Providence which creates such wonderfully attractive servants (persons).

Whenever I look at you, you will look at others, taking no notice of me.

I will honor your beautiful eyes. How long will you look at the enemy?

My soul will go to the paradise if you kill me with your own hands.

Look! Where has Mirza Mah Siyar reached?Where was he before? Which path led him to this sublime position? (He has attained certain noble and higher state of love now).

See my sitar, which is hanging on the pillar and is so full of dust. (From love of sensual beauty now I have reached out to the higher kind of love____ Love of the Ultimate Reality).
