Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) Agrees to Extend Date for Settlement Issue in Chitral:…..Shahzada Iftikharud Din Ex MNA Chitral.

    Chitral Times Report

CHITRAL: Former Member National Assembly (MNA) from Chitral Shahzada Iftikharud Din has said that he met SMBR and Revenue Dept Officials on 27th and 28th Oct 2020 and raised the many discrepancies that exists in the settlement process. The issue of regularization of Revenue Dept staff in Chitral also came under discussion. The SMBR agreed to extend the settlement date besides promising to regularize the revenue dept staff who after 15 years of service still face a an uncertain future.

Talking to #ChitralTimes he said that the SMBR was also informed of the unanimous press conference of all political parties of Chitral on 3rd Oct 2020 presided over by EX Distt Nazim Haji Magfirat Shah and also participated by party representatives of all the political parties including myself.

In that connection I also shared a what’s up copy of letter of our sitting MNA Mawlana Abdul Akbar Chitrali written to the Chief Secretary KPK.

Ex MNA appreciated the efforts and said that our MPAs Mawlana Hidayat u Rehman and Wazirzada are also playing a key role to ensure the publics rights are safeguarded and their concerns are also duly addressed.

He said that on 3rd Oct at Press Club Chitral political parties appealed to the KPK Govt to extend the date for land settlement so that a fair & transparent opportunity is given to everyone to get their land records registered with the Govt.

Mr. Iftikhar said that the SMBR was informed that as per existing plans 97.5% of private lands in Chitral are being handed over to the state an act that if implemented will dispossess Chitralis of the rights to their lands making them owner of only 2.5% of Chitral.

He said that would be a world record having disastrous consequences for the economic upliftment of Chitral s residents as banks won’t extend business finances to a people possessing no collateral (on 95% occasions land is shown as collateral by banks).
