PTI workers stood divided into two opposite group over the posting of DHO Chitral

CHITRAL: The leaders and workers of Pakistan Tahrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chitral chapter stood divided into two opposite groups over the posting of Dr. Iftikharuddin as district health officer Chitral who had been suspended from service as medical superintendent of DHQ hospital last year when the video of unloading the garbage and solid waste by the hospital ambulance had gone on viral on social media.

The provincial government has ordered his posting as DHO replacing Dr. Israrullah on Friday last who has posted as incharge of civil hospital Drosh against the vacant post which had been upgraded recently.

An insider in the party told Chitral Times  that a splinter group within the party had been demanding the transfer of the recently transferred DHO Dr. Israrullah because he did not pay heed to them in appointments against lower posts and transfers and postings of the employees during the last government of PTI.

He said that a number of attempts made by the groups succeeded in the past as well when Dr. Israr was removed as DHO but each time another group of the party got it annulled denotifying the order and the recent transfer/posting is yet another event of tug-of-war between the two.

Meanwhile, the group opposing Dr. Israrullah addressed a press conference here on Saturday and warned the antagonist group of supporting the former officer and asked them to avoid from attempting the cancellation of the transfer order.

The PTI leaders including district president of Insaaf Youth Ziaur Rahman and others expressed their gratitude to the chief minister and minister of health for removing Dr. Israrullah and alleged that he (Dr. Israr) had caused the deterioration of healthcare facilities in the district during the last four years of his posting as district head.

They claimed that the district leadership including MPA Wazirzada Kalash were also favoring the transfer of the officer and supported the support of the group.

When the president of the district chapter of PTI Abdul Latif  and the  MPA Wazirzada Kalash were  contacted to know their versions, both of them avoided to say a word about the transfer and posting of the health officer and reiterated that they had nothing to do with the transfer and posting of government officers.

They said that party leaders and workers should, in principle, should have a say in the matters of transfers and postings of government employees and officers but they should keep a vigilant watch over their efficiency ensuring the rule of merit and law.
