Tit bits from the oral history of Chitral-2
Amirul Mulk has been one of the characters of the conspiracy published in the Online papers two days back. He was also called ‘ Ghot Metar’ for his abnormal behavior. It was a general practice of the rulers of Chitral to give their babies to various families belong to important tribes for fostering. On the same line Amirul Mulk had been given for fostering to an important family of Shoghor.
During the fostership, Amanul Mulk -the father of the child- paid a visit to the Khuzara valley and wanted to see the growth of his son so he visited the family concerned. The child was brought to him and Amanul Mulk looked at the child with great interest but remarked addressing the foster father ‘ to me this child seems mentally retarded and not a smart one’. The foster father replied that ‘ how ever he is your child and will be able to do some thing for your royal house but if he is not very smart even then he will be able to take grain to a water mill and bring flour for the family’. Amirul Mulk was listening to this dialogue and had noted the remarks of his foster father and thus kept ill feelings against him for his bad remark i.e. a prince to carry grain to watermill and so on… but fostered the remark in the core of his heart.
As soon as he killed Sardar Nizamul Mulk at Broze, he reached Chitral Fort in great hurry and started taking revenge from those families who were reported to him to be his opponents. He got them assassinated by his adherents. And he also killed the members of the family who had fostered him on the ground that his foster father had degraded him when he was a child. He forgot all the pain and care taken by that family to feed, foster and rear him as a baby and child.
