CHITRAL: The suspected patient of COVID-19 could not be shifted to Peshawar for test from DHQ hospital due to unavailability of ambulance here on Tuesday.

The suspected patient Altaf,21, of Jughoor village had recently returned from Karachi and showed some of the symptoms of disease caused by coronavirus.

He put himself into quarantine some days ago at his home while the administration shifted him to the isolation ward of the hospital while his family members have been restrained to live inside the house.

The medical superintendent of DHQ Hospital Dr. Shamim told Chitral Times that the hospital has two ambulances which are being put on stand by on the orders of high-ups and cannot allot it to the patient.

He said that the relatives of the patient have been asked to arrange ambulance for themselves.

The people have expressed their apprehensions over keeping the suspected patient in the isolation ward situated in the premises of the hospital which were previously private wards.
