    Radio Pakistan, PTV hold annual Provincial Naat competition in connection of 12 Rabiul Awal celebrations

    PESHAWAR (APP): Radio Pakistan Peshawar and Pakistan Television here Tuesday jointly organized an impressive annual Provincial Naat Competition 2023 in connection of 12 Rabiul Awal celebrations.

    The event was held at Sir Sahibzada Abdul Qayyum Auditorium of Radio Pakistan Peshawar. Male and female Naat Khwan from all districts of Khyber Pakthunkhwa contested in four different categories.

    The first category of boys aged below 15 years was won by Naveed Ahmed of Abbottabad, the second position clinched by Shahzada Sudas of Lower Chitral and third position was bagged by Abdullah Bashir of Manshera district.

    In the second category of girls aged below 15 years, Madeeha Naseer of Abbottabad has secured first position, Horain Fatima of Haripur stood second and Fatima Kanwal of Mansehra clinched third position respectively.

    The third category of male naath khawan aged between 15-25 years was won by Muhammad Fahad of Haripur district, second position secured by Masood Masood Ahmed of Peshawar while third position was bagged by Hafiz Muhammad Hasanat of Abbottabad.

    Similarly, in female category aged 15-25 years, the first position was clinched by Syeda Zahira of Abbottabad, second position was bagged by Urooj Zahra of Bannu while Maryam Bibi of Mansehra was decorated with third position.

    Barrister Feroz Jamal Kakakhel, caretaker Minister for Information and Tourism who was the Chief Guest, distributed prizes among position holders.

    Congratulating Radio Pakistan Peshawar and PTV employees for sucessfull holding of the impressive event, the Minister said the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was a beacon of light for entire Malakand.

    He said all the problems could be addressed by strictly adhering to the teachings of the Holy Quran and Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

    There was shortage of talent in the country including  KP and urged students to concentrate on their students besides taking advantage of the Government education facilities.

    He said that our students could achieve any goal subject to provision of proper direction and guidance.

    The Minister said the KP Government was endeavoring to provide better opportunities and healthy environment to students, and has recently arranged free tours for blind children to Nathiagali Abbottabad district, adding such activities prompte patriotism.

    The Minister paid rich tributes to employees of Radio Pakistan Peshawar for immediately restarting its transmission after May 9-10 vandalism.

    He said Radio Pakistan Peshawar has a unique distinction from where the Pakistan independence announcement was made on night of August 13-14 in 1947 after its establishment in 1935.

    Feroz Jamal said that its first station director, Aslam Khattak had served on key position in the country while senior broadcaster Syeda Effat Jabbar was its female director who was recently retired, saying Radio Pakistan’s doors were open for young artists.

    Abdul Majeed Baloch, Station Director, Radio Pakistan Peshawar said that after May 9-10 vandalism, Provincial Naath Competition 2023 in connection with 12 Rabiul Awal celebrations was the first major event organized by the national broadcaster with assistance of PTV.

    Despite limited resources, he said the auditorium was rehabilitated for the mega event for which employees of the national broadcaster deserved appreciation.

    The event was attended besides others by Director General Tourism, Barakatullah Marwat, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry former President, Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, General Manager PTV Aurangzeb Afridi  Bureau Chief APP Peshawar, Fakhar e Alam, senior producers, artists, broadcasters,  teachers and students in large numbers.

    Later, Pir of Manki Sharif, Junaid Ameen offered collective dua for progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
