CHITRAL: The officers belonging to provincial management service (PMS) continued their token strike here on Tuesday by wearing black bands around their arms to register their protest against the exclusion of any officer of their genre in the Prime Minister’s Task Force on civil reforms and predominance of Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) in the forum.
Talking to the local media men, a number of PMS officers said that the very composition of the task force was highly objectionable for them and they feared that they will be subjected to injustices in the reforms while they were already eking out for their just rights.
Expressing their anguish and astonishment over the total exclusion of the PMS Officers from the task force, they said that how there was not a single officer of provincial cadre available from any province of the country to be in it.
They feared that the interests of the PMS officers will not be reflected in the recommendations of the task force as they did not expect any fair deal from the PAS officers who have left stone unturned to subjugate the officers of provincial cadre.
The officers said that the inter-provincial coordination (IPC) formula for the posting of officers was an open aggression against the PMS Officers at the behest of PAS officers and it was meant to adversely affect their pace of promotion.
They also castigated the machination of the PAS officers in the process of postings to different administrative positions in which junior most federal cadre officers are preferred over the senior most provincial cadre officers.
The officers warned of pen down strike on national level if their demands were not meted out by the government by including one PMS officer from each province in the task force.
