One million poor families take benefits from BISP: Dr Amjad
PESHAWAR (APP): Chairperson, Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), Dr Muhammad Amjad Saqib here Wednesday said that one million poor families were benefiting from the landmark program and minimizing their problems was our collective and moral responsibility.
Addressing BISP beneficiaries at City University’s mosque Peshawar, Dr Amjad underscored the need for a comprehensive strategy to bring needy families out of poverty and suggested linking children of beneficiaries with the departments of technical expertises.
He said credible data of deserving families were available with BISP and urged philanthropists’ to contribute for assistance of the needy ones.
He also proposed establishment of a fund exclusively for poor and needy families and ensuring payment of BISP Kafalat program without any deduction and stressed for holding dialogue with POS agents for transparent payment of the scholarship.
Dr Amjad Saqib interacted with poor women and heard their problems. He directed BISP authorities to address their problems on priority basis, provide facilities and ensure cleanliness at BISP operations.
He also interacted with students of City University and emphasized on them to work hard with dedication and professional commitment besides focusing on practical training and vocational education.
He said that success in all spheres of life including business and education could be achieved through hard work, dedication and taking advantage of the experiences of successful personalities.
