    MNA Chitral efforts lauded

    CHITRAL: The village nazim of village council Oveer Syed Muhammad Khan has said that the MNA from Chitral Shahzada Iftikharuddin has rendered invaluable services to the district which included the completion of the projects of Lowari tunnel and Golen Gol hydro power station as both of them are game changers in the district.


    Addressing a press conference flanked by dozens of the social activists of his village council here on Wednesday, he said that Shahzada Iftikhar justified the selection of the people of Chitral as MNA and accomplished what the others could not do during the last 70 years in Chitral.


    He said that road communication problem and the acute shortage of electricity were the two main issues the people of Chitral faced since long but it was who both of them solved and Chitral is connected with the rest of the country round the year while in the past, it used to remain cut off for more than five months of the year.

    Mr. Khan said that with the completion of Golen Gol power project by WAPDA, Chitral has got electricity that time more than its need and Chitral has emerged to be only district in the country with a zero load shedding of electricity.


    Further eulogizing the MNA, he said that it was he who got approved Rs. 8 billion from the Universal Services Fund to provide mobile telephone services throughout the district and it now 95 percent area of the district is covered by a mobile telephone service.


    He said that proving himself to be a visionary, Shahzada Iftikhar has approved a road project by the federal government linking Oveer village and Terich valley which passed through the corridor of Terich Mir peak of Hindukush system of mountains and it will promote tourism in the area.
