KP Caretaker Information Minister announces vigorous crackdown on criminal elements, reforms in competitive examinations
PESHAWAR (APP) Caretaker Provincial Minister for Information and Public Relations, Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel here Thursday said that a small disruptive segment, constituting approximately two percent of our society, has been engaged in various illicit activities, thereby negatively impacting our nation’s economic and social well-being.
These elements have been linked to widespread currency smuggling, hoarding, extortion, and other serious crimes, ultimately jeopardizing peace and public order.
In response to these challenges, the State is committed to a rigorous crackdown on these disruptive elements. Stricter actions are imminent to safeguard life and property of the citizens.
The Apex Committee convened in Peshawar for six long hours yesterday reviewed the ongoing measures within the province. The Chief of Army Staff, DG ISI and Federal Interior Minister also graced the meeting keeping in view the importance of the subject.
He said this during a press conference held at the ‘ITLA’A Cell’ Civil Secretariat following the caretaker cabinet meeting here on Thursday.
Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel emphasized the government’s dedication to enhancing law and order. Plans include bolstering police capacity, tightening regulations on illegal firearms, establishing a forensic science laboratory, and tackling the issue of illegal SIM cards and drug control in the province, he said.
The Provincial Minister highlighted that the government has already taken proactive measures, leading to the apprehension of individuals involved in unlawful activities, with more arrests in progress. These efforts have notably improved the overall situation in the province, underscoring the caretaker government’s commitment to fostering progress during this transitional period.
In addition to this, Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel spoke about the Medical Test Scam. He acknowledged the grave injustice inflicted upon bright students and announced the decision of the caretaker provincial cabinet to re-conduct the test through KMU, within six weeks.
The caretaker government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa pledges to uphold the principles of merit, ensuring that intelligent students are not denied opportunities, he said.
He said that the Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Azam Khan, has ordered the formation of a committee tasked with recommending measures for the competitive testing process in the province. Those involved in the medical test scam have been apprehended, and the caretaker government remains committed to holding both them and the parents who mislead their children accountable for their actions.
Meanwhile, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced Friday 29th September 2023 as public holiday on the occasion of 12 Rabi-ul-Awal 1445 AH.
