KP Cabinet approves preparation of rules for general sales tax on goods and services by meeting IMF condition
PESHAWAR (APP): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has approved preparation of rules for general sales tax on goods and services by meeting the final condition of IMF.
Briefing media about the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet decisions, CM Adviser for Finance, Himyatullah Mayar and information minister Feroz Jamal Kakakhel said that IMF’s last condition was fulfilled today and its notification and videos to be sent to Washington today. They said Rs6 billion revenue to be generated from these rules.
They said currenty the province has a draft of Rs14billion while salaries amount is Rs48 billion and the province was not in position to pay it in advance due to poor economic position of the province.
He said Rs62 billion outstanding amount under net hydel power was pending against the centre and Rs21 billion pending under NFC award. Up till now, Rs1.4 billion under head of arrears were received in previous year by the province.
