CHITRAL: The chief of Jamiat-e-Ulama-e-Islam (JUI) Maulana Fazlur Rahman has said that PTI government was the product of electoral rigging in which the popular mandate was changed to implant a puppet government which has no capability to run the affairs of the state with the result that every field of governance is facing retrogression.
Addressing the Khatm-e-Nubuat Conference here on Thursday in Parade Ground, he said that the people were passing through agony and woes in every walk of life ranging from labour to trader and teachers to doctors and lawyers while the rulers are committing the blunder of protecting those who hurt the religious beliefs of the Muslims.
He alleged that he was being asked by ‘certain quarters’ to keep mum over the manipulation in the popular mandate but he will continue to raise his voice even at the very cost of his life as he had to trained on how to contain and fight but not on cowing down before powers.
“Now everyone in the country has come to the conviction that their mandate has been stolen and a stooge has been imposed on them who is bent upon making things nastiest for them by his incapability while departure from rule of law and adherence to the constitutions are main features of the government”, he said.
He said that the growth rate of economy has plunged below zero during the last two years and the economy has been shattered and it was a matter of apprehension because a country with pathetic economy loses its existence like Soviet Union.
“The (PTI) government has abandoned the mega projects of the last government and has came forward with egg, hen and calf to revitalize economy and fight poverty while one cannot expect more than this keeping in view the capability of the rulers.
The CPEC project has been rolled back initiated by the Nawaz government which was destined to change the state of the common man for better”, he said adding that the districts of Chitral and Dir also suffered as the alternate route was to pass through this region which was also designed to connect it with Central Asia.
The JUI chief also criticized the government for its failure in the front of foreign policy that has led to strained relations with Saudi Arabia and China and many Islamic countries while taking advantage of its weakness, India rushed forward to annex Kashmir by changing its special status.
He asked the people to ready themselves for a final showdown against
the government to save the country and its poor people from the
possession of a government which was no more tolerable.
Earlier, the provincial amir Maulana Attaur Rahman and district amir Maulana Abdur Rahman also addressed the gathering.
