JI stages sit-in against increase in petroleum products, price hike
PESHAWAR (APP): Jumat Islami staged a sit-in in front of Governor House Peshawar to protest against recent increase in petroleum products and price- hike.
The sit in was attended by a substantial number of the party workers and leaders on Sher Shah Suri Road.
Sirajul Haq, central amir of Jumat Islami said that an unprecedented increase in price of petroleum products was a great injustice with the poor people and demanded withdrawal of increased prices of petroleum and diseasal products.
He said if prices of petroleum products were not decreased then they would stage a big protest demonstration at Islamabad.
Sirajul Haq that price hike and surge in petrol and diesel prices have adversaly affected common man.
Siraj said that the sit-in of his party was peaceful and would continue on Tuesday at Peshawar.
Due to sit in of JI, hundered of thousands of motorists, students, employees and general public suffered due to closure of roads leading to Peshawar cantonment and Governor House.
