CHITRAL: In a function held here on Tuesday in connection with international  Anti-Corruption week, the issue of corruption must be taken on emergency basis which has created anarchy in the society as a result of mad scramble for amassing wealth by foul means.

They said that corruption was one of the major causes for the abject poverty in the country as the corrupt elements got richer and richer by looting the national wealth which widened the schism between the rich and the poor.

The speakers said that the corruption had become rampant and pervaded to all segments of the society making the life harder to live for those who wanted a life free of corruption evading the corrupt means of earning.

They said that by adopting austerity and simple life, the menace of corruption can be brought to its minimum level and this menace can be weeded out from the society by creating mass awareness making them to abhor it in any form and degree.
