    Four-day KaghLusht Festival Concludes

    CHITRAL: The four-day KaghLusht festival concluded here on Sunday in the plateau of KaghLusht in upper Chitral situated in the confluence of Mulkhow, Torkhow and Mastuj valleys at an altitude of 10 thousand feet.

    Tens of thousands of people thronged the venue from different parts of the district apart from a good number of tourists had come here from other districts as well while a tent village established in the vast expanse of the plateau gave it a unique look during the festival.

     

    Held jointly by district administration and KP tourism department, the festival included in its inventory of events folk sports of the area apart from foot ball, cricket and volley ball while adventure sports like rock climbing, skate shooting, paragliding and jeep rally were also introduced for the first time.

    Polo match in the flood light in nighttime was yet another addition to the festival this time followed by musical concerts in which the renowned singers of the district enthralled the audience by their performance.

     

    Extensive arrangements had been made to showcase the cultural traits of the area which pertained to local cuisine, costumes, ornaments, kitchen wares, agricultural instruments and musical tools which attracted the attention of the participants in large number.

     

    Two legendary folk singers Abdul Ghani alias Dool Mama and Mir Wali known as KuraghoMeshter had been chosen by the administration to inaugurate the festival four days ago which drew acclamations from the local people.

    Due to the public holiday and pleasant weather, the concluding ceremony had attracted extraordinary number of visitors and sports fans.
    Commissioner Malakand Division Syed Zaheerul Islam Shah and Chitral DC IrshadSodhar gave away prizes to the players of different sports teams and participants in different events.

    In the cut throat competition of polo, Reshun team beat its rival Booni by 3 to goals while Ayun, Drosh and Chitral Scouts emerged as victorious of Football, Cricket and volley ball respectively.
