About 20 to 25km away from Chitral, a very beautiful village Parsan is located. With almost 250 households, covered by some beautiful Mountains all around, having perfect natural beauty, Parsan is an eye-catching village in the Karimabad area. It’s such a beautiful valley that people from villages around it & from other areas of Chitral, even Foreigners also love to visit this awesome land of very kind & nice peoples.
Education in Parsan:
Not even a shadow of doubt about it that Parsan is on top when it comes to education. Eager n hunger for education among the natives of this valley is something amazing. History is the proof that peoples of this valley have struggled a lot to get education.
30 to 40 years ago there was a single Primary school in this valley, for studying onwards (after Primary education) people of this valley have been walking 3 to 4 hours daily to get to School in Shoghore & in Susoom, then in the early 20s one Middle and one High school were established in this village, Middle school was Govt. based with the High school being Community based with co-operation of AKES.
So, these two schools were like a dream coming true for the peoples of Parsan, they started studying in their own village till 8th standard or High-level education. Those who could afford their studies in AKES were studying their High-school in their village, but it wasn’t enough as many still had to walk to Susoom daily for High education in Govt. School. But the passion and willingness for Education remained spot-on among the peoples of Parsan and now all those who went through such struggle for Education are successful and they are serving us in different fields.
Though now, there are 4 Primary schools & 2 High Schools in Parsan, one is the Community Based AK-CBS serving the valley almost from the last two decades, and Govt. Based High school is newly constructed one supposed to be inaugurated for 2018-19 session of High school classes & onwards, I thank the Govt. specially Ex-MPA Mr.Saleem Khan (PPP) for this great favor to our valley.
So now, the natives have an easy access to Education in their own village. Although, for College & above Education the people of this valley use to go down to Town Chitral or other Cities of Pakistan for studying. Now you’ll find a Graduate almost in every house in Parsan.
The literacy rate in Parsan is almost 100, from Matriculation and above its approximately 95. So Parsan has its reputable recognition as Educated valley with Educated peoples.
Culture of Parsan:
People of Parsan are typical Chitrali being famous for their Hospitality & being cool-tempered. People in this part of Chitral love their Culture. Music is the most loved aspect of Chitrali culture in this valley, Music of Parsan is famously known across Chitral. Some famous Artists make the Music of Parsan famous, few of them are;
Sultan Murad – one of the best Poet as well as a singer, he doesn’t need to introduced as everybody knows who he is.
Ayar Khan – A very well-known man for Singing, his “E Tamanna Sher Ma Baqi” is one of the best he has ever graced with his voice.
Haji Khan – With a voice full of pain & attractiveness, Haji is also a famous singer, I bet even a bird will carefully listen to him when he sings.
Rehmat Uddin – Currently Principal of an AKS school in Karimabad, Honorable Rehmat Uddin Sir is a very famous and great Sitar-nawaz. His Sitar playing abilities have been seen with Sultan Murad many times in different Cultural shows, he takes Sitar playing to a whole different level, just let him play and listen to him – no other best feeling!
Gholam Uddin – As great of a Sitar-nawaz as Rehmat Uddin Sir, Gholam Uddin puts all the pain and feeling of a song in his Sitar in an amazing way.
Imtiaz Ali Muskan – An emerging face in the world of Poetry, Muskan is emerging well as Poet & he is going to be one great of a poet.
Besides what I mentioned, peoples of Parsan are famously known for their “Phonik”, it’s always a pleasure to see a Parsanekhu dance, that’s why Dhool Xeri in Parsan always attracts huge crowd from other villages around it.
Parsan is such a Culture-loving valley, Sultan Murad has put our people’s love for the Culture this way;
“Parsan ry Parinda Deho Royan,
Saqafato Zinda Deho Royan…
E Bar Mubaraki pisaten Bar,
Qoumo bachn Fida Deho Royan..”
It summarizes the Love & attraction of Culture among natives of Parsan.
Beautiful placesin Parsan:
Parsan is a very well-known valley for being filled with natural beauty, but to catch the eyes of Tourists or peoples out of Parsan valley, “Lot Gazz” & “Xhang Deho Julani” are very beautiful places in Parsan. Usually peoples from other valleys come to these two places to enjoy the beauty of nature there. Both these are wide land of grass. In Summer time, moderate temperature & cold water being available around make these places even more awesome.
Both the places are used as Playgrounds as well, playing Football or Cricket in these places is a better feeling then being in any stadium, just amazing! Come and witness…
Apart from these all, the natives of Parsan are very nice & down to earth. They got every character a human being needs to have, being a native of Parsan I’ve found every kind of people here, mean you have some great Teachers here, you have Religious scholars here, you have Cultural Artists here as mentioned above, you have some Comedian kind of peoples here, and you have……I mean you will find every character of people here, those who are familiar with Parsan or the peoples of Parsan, they know how beautiful this valley is and how amazing the peoples here are.
So all I mentioned above, just to explore my village, not over-appreciating it as it’s native, so I just wanted peoples to know about Parsan and I just explored the valley, it’s beauty and all, hope you like it.
Lastly, I pray that may my Village, my Chitral & my Pakistan prosper & may Allah Almighty keep us all happy. Ameen!
