    Digital export summit held between Pakistan and Turkiye

    ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Embassy in Turkiye in collaboration with TUYAFED (Turkish federation of associations operating in the software and IT sector) organized a ‘Digital Export Summit’ in virtual format on 15 February 2024. The thematic areas of the summit included fintech, gaming, telecommunications, cyber security, e-governance, A.I. & robotics, e-tourism, e-commerce, corporate software, defense technologies, energy and sustainability, health and education. Apart from Consulate General of Pakistan in Istanbul, relevant institutions from Pakistan including Ministry of Commerce, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Pakistan IT Industry Association (PASHA), National Incubation Centre for Aerospace Technologies (NICAT) and others participated in the event.

    The Summit was well attended by more than 150 software companies from both the countries as well as IT professionals. Ambassador Dr. Yousaf Junaid in his opening remarks thanked TUYAFED and the participants for their presence and highlighted the immense potential for bilateral trade and investment in the IT sector. Underscoring the importance of deepening cooperation in the IT sector, he said that both the countries would be able to boost IT exports as well as develop indigenous cutting-edge technologies. He added that this summit would play an important role in implementing the vision of strengthening technological cooperation between the two countries, envisioned by their leadership.

    His remarks were followed by presentations by Mr. Zeeshan Rehman, Chief Commercial Officer PSEB and Mr. Khuram Rahat, Vice Chairman, PASHA. Addressing the Summit, President TUYAFED Mustafa Çal?? gave an overview of the Turkish IT eco-system and opportunities available for bilateral collaboration. He added that this Summit would help forge business relations between the IT companies of both the countries. He expressed satisfaction on the positive interest shown by IT companies from both sides in the Summit. Opening segment was followed by channelized discussions on Summit’s thematic areas as well as B2B meetings. This Summit provided a good platform to further enhance IT collaboration and bilateral investment between Pakistan and Turkiye especially between the private sectors. The two brotherly countries remain committed to further deepening of bilateral relations in all fields of mutual interest.
