CHITRAL: The commissioner of Malakand Division, Syed Mazharul Islam laid foundation stone of the offices of Chitral Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Denin area and emphasized the importance of the area in the coming days due to the completion of Lowari tunnel project.
He said that the traders community should prepare themselves to face the challenges of competition in the wake of Lowari tunnel and the passage of the alternate route of China Pakistan Economic Corridor through the district which will result in its exposure to the outer world.
He appreciated the role of Chitral Chamber of Commerce and its president Sartaj Ahmed Khan in organizing the traders community in Chitral and said that the body had a crucial role in their mobilization towards the goal.
The chamber’s president Sartaj Ahmed Khan highlighted the achievements of his organization and said that the devastating flash floods and earthquake in 2015 had badly damaged the local economy and it was a challenge to reinvigorate it.
He said that CCC is presently busy on two-pronged agenda of revitalizing the commerce and industry as well as preparing the community to rise to the occasion once the CPEC alternate route is completed.
