CM reviews arrangements for admission in medical, dental colleges of KP
PESHAWAR (APP): Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Justice (R) Syed Arshad Hussain Shah on Thursday, visited the Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar where he reviewed arrangements for medical and dental colleges in the province.
He was given briefing about various activities of the university. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Advisor on Health Professor Dr. Riaz Anwar.
He reviewed the arrangements for admissions after the successful conduct and result of MDCAT by KMU.
He distributed laptops amongst students of the university and awarded degrees of Masters in Medical Education to graduates.
Chief Minister Justice (R) Arshad Hussain Shah specifically commended KMU for its unwavering dedication to providing quality health education to students. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq gave a detailed briefing to the Chief Minister, elucidating the diverse range of programs offered by KMU which include Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Allied Health Sciences, Nursing, and Pharmacy.
The Chief Minister was also updated on the ongoing public health initiatives and health research initiatives thriving on the KMU campus and admissions to postgraduate degree programs in epidemiology and basic medical sciences.
Acknowledging the services of Khyber Medical University, the Chief Minister recognized its pivotal role in empowering the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Chief Minister also visited the under-construction KMU Hospital and Research Centre and directed the concerned quarter to expedite work on the project to ensure its early completion.
He also directed the management of KMU to come up with a plan to establish campuses of the KMU in the Newly Merged Districts and assured all out support of the provincial government in this regard.
