Chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan initiated the holding of Online Katchehries

PESHAWAR: As an important step to resolve public issues, the chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has initiated the holding of Online Katchehries which is the first ever step of its kind in the history of the province. He formally launched this initiative by listening to the issues of general public of the backward district Tank during the first online Katchehri held here at the Chief Minister’s House on Wednesday. During the online Katchehri held via video link, the people from different parts of district Tank raised their issues related to the various government departments. The chief minister on the occasion, issued directives to the quarters concerned for immediate steps to resolve the issues and address the public grievances.
Additional Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, administrative secretaries of provincial departments, district administration tank and higher authorities of police department also attended Online Katchehri. On complaint of a citizen, the chief minister directed the quarters concerned to hold an inquiry into the lower level recruitments under health department in sub- division Tank since 2018 further directing them to lift ban on lower-level recruitment in the health department of district Tank and to ensure merit based recruitment against all the vacant posts under health department of district Tank.
In response to another citizen complaint regarding non availability of female dental surgeon in Tank, he directed the quarters concerned to create a post of female dental surgeon adding that local female dental surgeon should be given priority in the recruitment against that post. Mahmood Khan also directed health department to devise proper policy for the recruitment of local doctors in the all backward districts of the province. In response to another complaint regarding lack of facilities in Tank hospital, the chief minister directed secretary health to visit the hospital and submit him a proper report within a week. He also directed for steps to empanel more hospitals from tank district for free treatment under Sehat Card scheme. On the complaint regarding the issues of clean drinking water, the chief minister has directed the authorities of Public Health Engineering and district administration for immediate steps to resolve the issue and added that a project worth Rs. 750 million has already been approved for providing clean drinking water to Tank City which needs to be implemented as per the stipulated time lines.
He said that the provincial government was establishing Tube Wells to provide clean drinking water in the rural areas of the district and asked the people to identify suitable sites for the Tube Wells in their respective areas. The chief minister also directed the authorities concerned to take steps for the rehabilitation of non-functional tube wells and submit report to this end.
On the complain of a citizen regarding sanitation issues in Tank city, the chief minister directed the local government department and district administration to launch a special cleanliness drive in Tank city and clean the city in one month. The chief minister, directed the district administration to carry out an anti-encroachment drive and make clear the waterways. Similarly, on the complaint regarding slow pace of work on Tank city road, the chief minister directed the concerned deputy commissioner and executive engineer to visit the site and expedite the construction work. On the complains regarding load shedding of electricity, over billing and meterization, the chief minister said that the matter would be taken up with chief PESCO.
Moreover, the chief minister on another complaint against use of narcotics in the district, directed the authorities of Social Welfare department to carry out a survey and submit proposals for rehabilitation of drug addicts. Mahmood Khan directed the additional IG Police to carry out a detailed visit of police lock ups and submit report.
The chief minister on the occasion directed the quarters concerned to strictly comply the directives issued during the online Katchehri and said that after three weeks progress review meeting would be held; and in case of non-compliance strict action will be taken against responsible ones.
