Availability of fire cylinder re-filling facility in Chitral hailed
CHITRAL: In the awareness session on ‘fire safety’ held here on Wednesday, preparedness was overemphasized to control the accidental fire erupted in buildings situated in congested areas where it plays havoc with lives and properties thereby inflicting a colossal loss.
Held under the aegis of civil defense department and Chitral Safety Solutions (CSS), the session was largely attended by the representatives of Aga Khan Foundation and other organizations as well as business community.
It was highlighted that it was the binding on every government and non-government office and business centers to maintain updated fire fighting arrangements and impart basic training on fire fighting to its staff while no building could be imagined of without fire cylinder as per the relevant Act of the parliament.
The civil defense officer Chitral, Ismail Jan while talking on the occasion, said that with the fast growing human settlement in Chitral city, one cannot ignore the implementation of the basic laws regarding fire fighting in a building.
He said that in the buildings properly equipped with fire fighting tools with a know-how of its use, it has been observed that the fire was extinguished before it going out of control.
He expressed his satisfaction over the services rendered by CSS in firefighting preparation by arranging trainings on fire extinguishing and providing the most sought-after facility of re-filling of fire cylinders in Chitral for the first time.
The chief executive of CSS, Fazulur Rehman expressed his resolve to upgrade his efforts in imparting training and providing facilitation in firefighting endeavors.
