CHITRAL: All the eleven persons injured in the collapse of local hotel balcony on Thursday last were shifted to a hospital in Peshawar for treatment here on Friday morning by helicopter of Pak Army.
A doctor in the DHQ hospital where they were being treated after the accident said that except two all they were in stable condition and majority of them had sustained head injuries for which the hospital has special facilities in the Peshawar hospital they were referred to.
He said that the airlifting of the injured to Peshawar was highly desired as the movement by road from Chitral to Peshawar was not recommended which would created a number of complications in the injuries.
Meanwhile, the former MNA from Chitral Shahzada Iftikharuddin has expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic incident occurring in the hotel which claimed the lives of 5 tourists from Kasur district leaving eleven injured.
In a press statement issued here on Friday, he said that on behalf of the hotel management, he stated his sympathies to the bereaved families of the incident and said that in these hours of distress he was with them and pray to Almighty Allah to give them courage to bear the great loss with fortitude and courage.
He thanked the district administration, police, Pak Army, Rescue 1122, management of DHQ hospital and the volunteers of civil society who made concerted efforts to mitigate the suffering of the victims of the accident.
