KURAGH: A grand Quiz and speech competition program was organized at the AKHSS Kuragh atrium. Educationists from various Alma-Maters, students of both schools along with their teachers attended the program. Students of the school Ms Atshan Mehwar, Ms Hemera Rahim, Julia Sameen and FarheenZaman fulfilled the responsibility of compeering in the program.
The program started at 10.30 am with recitation of the Holy Quran, and Naat-e Rasul-e- Maqbool (SAWW). Then the Principal of the school Ms. Sultana Burhanuddin welcomed the guests and shared with the audience the objectives of the program.
Ms Fazila Bibi, Lecturer in Pakistan Studies, shared the rules and regulations of the competition.
Lecturer in Islamiat Mr. Fida Muhammad introduced the honorable Judges to the participants. The jury included: Ms Hazratunnisa, lecturer in Urdu at Govt Degree College Booni; Mr. Ilahi Bux, lecturer in Pakistan Studies, Govt. Degree College for Boys Booni; Ms Gul Shirin, Lecturer in Islamiat Govt. Degree College for Girls Booni; while Mr. Mehmud Ali Rumi, Principal Islamia Model School Bumbagh was the time judge.
The first contest Inter-AKHSS Islamiat Quiz Competition at HSSC Level had three rounds: with 7, 10 and 15 questions asked respectively. In this contest AKHSS Kuragh was declared winner. In the intermission between the first and the second contest, there was an interesting and thrilling parody performed by students of AKHSS Kuragh, which conveyed the message “Importance of Llistening to Instructions”.
After the contest, the next entertaining item of the program was Patriotic Song, which was sung by students of Grade 9, in the melodious rhythm of Rubab and Tambourine (Duff). It thrilled the audience and filled their hearts with emotions of patriotism.
The SSC level speech competition was won by AKHSS Kuragh, while the HSSC level competition was grabbed by AKHSS Seenlasht.
To entertain the spirits of the audience, a student of this school came to the stage and shared interesting jokes.
The Guest of Honour, Mr. Sahibur Rahman, Principal Govt. High School Booni, appreciated the struggle and tireless efforts and the good spirit of healthy competition of the students. He felt proud of the institution and the services it has been rendering in the field of education. He also declared that the speech delivered by the students was very relevant and it was according to demand of the time. “We should be proud of our Chitrali culture, and should be confident enough to promote it and make the world be familiar to it. We will be able to do this only if we do every possible thing to preserve our culture and literature, and the responsibility falls on the shoulders of all people of Chitrali, especially the youth” he said. He also announced Rs 5000 each for contestants from AKHSS Sinlasht and AKHSS Kuragh respectively.
Souvenir was presented to the Guest of Honour as a token of acknowledgement.
Awards and Certificates of participation were distributed among the participants of the competitions.
MrTufail Nawaz, Principal Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, was requested to address the audience. He shared his valuable views about the program and said that contests are not meant to win or lose; rather to inculcate spirit of coordination, cooperation, confidence and communication. He appreciated the efforts of the comperes, and the contestants and participants of the program for their wonderful presentations of what they had to present.
He advised the students to adopt the 21st century skills in order to achieve their goals and to walk pace to pace with the developed nations of the world. They should strictly follow the moral and ethical values. He expressed his hope that the cooperation and coordination between both AKHSSs will continue in future too.
In the program, medals and souvenirs were presented to the judges of the program.
The program ended with a Thank You speech by a student of Grade 12 from this school.
