CHITRAL: Three persons suffering from the deadly disease of cancer died the same day in Mastuj, a small village situated on the confluence of the rivers of Yarkhoon and Laspur here on Thursday.
Aziz, a resident of the village told Chitral Times that all the three were at the last stage of the deadly disease after their ailment having been declared incurable by doctors but still it was an occurrence by chance that they breathed their last the same day.
He said that grief and sorrow gripped the village over the sad demise of the three out of them Iqbal ud Din,36, and a daughter of Bulbulan Khan ,25, were at the prime of their youth while the third one Jawan Nawaz Khan was 60.
Mr. Aziz said that the number of cancer patients has increased abnormally over the years in Mastuj village as there were scores of cancer patients undergoing treatment and a study was unavoidable to assess the cause.
