High level meeting regarding the proposed Surizai Housing Scheme Peshawar held

PESHAWAR: A high level meeting regarding the proposed Surizai Housing Scheme to be launched under Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme was held here the other day with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan in the chair. The meeting discussed and reviewed various matters related to the project with special focus on resolving issues impeding physical progress on the project and important decisions were taken to this effect. Provincial Minister for Housing Dr. Amjid Ali, Special Assistant to CM Kamran Bangash, Chief Secretary Dr. Kazim Niaz, Inspector General of Police Muzzam Jah Ansari, Additional Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Senior Member Board of Revenue Syed Zafar Ali Shah, Principal Secretary to CM Amjad Ali Khan, Commissioner Peshawar Riaz Mehsood and other relevant high ups attended the meeting.
Briefing about the various aspects of the project, the meeting was informed that Surizai Housing Scheme has been planned over 8500 canal of land which is being established under Naya Pakistan Housing Program. A memorandum of understanding had been signed between Pakistan Housing Authority and Provincial Housing Authority for the implementation of the project. The project would consist of around 16000 gray structure units which would be offered to government servants and other people.
The chief minister urged upon authorities to take result-oriented steps to ensure smooth implementation of the project adding that this was a mega housing project under Naya Pakistan Housing Program, and the provincial Government wanted to complete this project at all cost for which all the stakeholders would have to play their respective role. Mahmood Khan said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was working for the wellbeing of poor and vulnerable segments of the society adding that Naya Pakistan Housing Program was also a practical step towards accomplishment of Prime Minister’s vision regarding welfare of common man. He said that for the first time in the history of Pakistan, the incumbent government had launched developmental and welfare projects to facilitate the poor and middle class of the society.
Mahmood Khan said that provincial government not only supported the vision of Imran Khan for the wellbeing of common man but has taken practical steps in all the sectors for the purpose. He added that a number of housing schemes had already been launched in the province under Naya Pakistan Housing Program whereas work on other various projects including Surizai Housing Scheme was in progress. Incumbent Provincial Government was working under a well devised strategy to provide residential facilities and employment opportunities to people by boosting up the construction and housing sectors, Mahmood Khan said.
