    30% increase in sales tax on services revenue in first six months of FY 2025–26 achieved: KPRA

    PESHAWAR (APP): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) here Thursday collected revenues of Rs. 23.26 billion from sales tax on services during the first six months (July to December) of the financial year 2025–26, marking a 30 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous financial year, when collections stood at Rs. 17.92 billion.

    KPRA press release said a significant increase of Rs. 5.34 billion was recorded under sales tax on services. This growth is the result of the expansion of the tax net in the services sector across the province and improved strategies.

    During the first six months of the current financial year, KPRA collected total revenues of Rs. 26.62 billion, of which Rs. 23.26 billion came from sales tax on services and Rs. 3.36 billion from Infrastructure Development Cess (IDC). 

    In the same period last financial year, KPRA’s total revenues were Rs. 23.81 billion, including Rs. 17.92 billion from Sales Tax on Services and Rs. 5.89 billion from IDC.

    Director General KPRA, Fauzia Iqbal, praised the performance of the authority’s officers and staff, saying that the remarkable increase is the result of effective planning, enforcement, and the tireless efforts of KPRA officers.

    She said the impressive growth in sales tax on services reflects the strategy, hard work, and professional performance of the KPRA team. With the same spirit and organized approach, KPRA has the full capacity to achieve its targets for the current financial year.”

    The Director General also thanked taxpayers, whose trust, cooperation, and partnership have played an important role in KPRA’s success.
