    KP Cabinet approves establishment of special courts for speedy disposal of properties cases of overseas Pakistanis 

    PESHAWAR (APP): Provincial Cabinet has approved the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Establishment of Special Courts (Overseas Pakistanis Properties) Act, 2025, said Special Assistant for Information Shafi Jan here Monday.

    “Overseas Pakistanis play an important role in the country’s economic development; protecting their rights is our responsibility,” said Shafi Jan in a press statement here.

    He said Govt will ensure the protection of properties owned by overseas Pakistanis in the country.

    He said overseas Pakistanis are the country’s valuable asset, and this is an important step toward safeguarding their assets

    The establishment of special courts will help resolve property-related cases swiftly, said Shafi Jan, adding the agenda for a police-style “Martyrs Package” for the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department staff has been referred to the Cabinet Committee.

    The Cabinet has directed the formulation of a uniform policy to also include martyrs of the Excise Police and other uniformed forces in the province.

    Approval granted for the purchase of buses for the Special Education Complex Hayatabad.

    The Cabinet has directed that buses also be arranged for children of the Zimung Kor institution.

    The Social Welfare Department has been instructed to take special measures for homeless people during winter.

    The Cabinet also directed that special care be taken of tourists during winter and that arrangements be ensured in tourist districts.

    Approval granted for the provision of Rs. 900 million in funds to the Irrigation Department for desilting/cleaning of canals.

    The Cabinet directed that the desilting campaign be completed in an organized and transparent manner.

    Desilting can also help reduce flood-related damages, he said, adding the meeting also instructed that further measures be taken in view of weather forecasts issued by the Meteorological Department.

    He said approval was granted for Rs. 6 million for the organization of the Grand Kurram Youth Convention.

    “Providing youth with opportunities to debate national and provincial issues is the need of the time. Such conventions also promote national unity,” he said.

    The Cabinet directed that similar conventions be organized for youth in other districts as well.

    Shafi Jan said that approval was granted for projects related to national parks and wildlife, and for the purchase of vehicles for forest staff in merged districts and for the Provincial Ombudsman’s Office.

    The Provincial Cabinet has directed that details of government vehicles in the province be submitted within one week.

    Details of annual expenditures incurred on vehicle maintenance have also been sought.

    Approval granted to bring Cadet College Lakki Marwat under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Educational and Training Institutions Ordinance, 1971.

    Cabinet also approved application of the frontier formula for the upgradation of librarians in the Higher Education Department and financial assistance for the medical treatment of two citizens, said Shafi Jan.

    He said approval was granted for Rs. 448 million for the Structural Heart and Cardiac Transplant Program and funds approved for the replacement of hemodialysis machines in government hospitals.

    Besides approval to continue the services of Head Nurses and Clinical Technicians/Senior Clinical Technicians in MTI hospitals, the Cabinet also approved the appointment of four independent directors in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minerals Development and Management Company.
