22 students of seminary hospitalized in Chitral
CHITRAL: Twenty-two students of a religious seminary for women were hospitalized when they suffered from diarrhea and dehydration soon after taking the meal of sehri in its hostel here on Monday.
The affected students were rushed to the DHQ hospital by the Rescue-1122 in precarious condition where emergency was declared to provide them with treatment on preferential basis with due care.
The deputy medical superintendent of the hospital Dr. Israrud Din told Dawn that after hectic efforts of the team of doctors, the condition of all the patients have been brought under control as a result of which all of them have drifted from the danger zone.
He said that five of the students were discharged by late afternoon while rest of them will be discharged once they fully recovered from the effects of dehydration.
District police officer Chitral Qamar Hayat visited the hospital and enquired about the health of the students and ordered inquiry to ascertain the reason under section 157 of criminal procedure code (CrPC).
