PESHAWAR: We celebrate World Aids Day on the 1st of December every year across the world. This year we started our celebration from the 30th of November. We celebrated the day by decorating Warsak Road with banners to aware the people about the prevention from the disease and its mode of transmission. The activity took place at the dhs tribal district in which Director Health, Agency Surgeon, Deputy Director Admin, Program Manager ACP and staff of the directorate took part. There was an awareness walk in which everyone took place and also there was a screening booth as then far this year is “to know your status and every one voluntarily got screened.
The second function took place on the 1st of December at the Civil Hospital Jamrud in which director Tribal District Dr. Adnan Taj, Program manager AIDS Program Dr. Durkhana Wali, Tehsildar Aslam Jan Kundi, District health Officer Khyber Dr. Mohammad Shafiq and 100 participants took amongst the facilitated were doctors and religious scholar. The seminar was followed by an awareness walk. Both these activities took place with the support of UNAIDS.
