The Devil and the Savior  ………… SN Zahid

The problem commenced when Imran Khan started talking about the land of Medina and the principles set by the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). He was already a famous personality and his closeness to religion brought him even more success and fame.

The religious parties also recognized the fact that PTI led by Imran Khan is becoming famous day by day and his speeches in mass rallies talking about the land of Medina and the principles set out by the Prophet Muhammad SAW) are giving him much more fame and recognition that they saw their voters dripping out of their hands and their political career in grave danger. The Jamaat-E-Islami simply dazed that the political philosophy they were preaching from many years was stolen from them. They battled Imran Khan with their pen and paper. Their Chief showed a statesmanship and never spoked ill of the opponent.

On the other hand, the JUI- chief Fazal Ur Rehman started bashing Imran Khan, accusing him of being a Jew and explicitly calling him as an agent of Americans, Jews, Ahmadi’s and a person of ill character.

“A person who cannot make his own children Muslim nor Pakistani, is dreaming of becoming prime minister of Pakistan and making the country an Islamic welfare state”. Fazal Ur Rehman said in a press conference.

Let’s forget whether the kids of Imran Khan are Muslim or not but a religious cleric speaking something like that is seriously a matter of concern for everyone. The son of Prophet Noah (AS) died as a non-believer. Does this mean we speak less of Prophet Noah (AS)? The father of Prophet Ibrahim died as an idol sculptor. Does that make any sense that we speak less of the virtuous Prophet Ibrahim (AS)? He went even further and issued a political Fatwa by a joint declaration of the clerics belonging to the JUI-F: that voting for PTI is haram (religiously prohibited).

Similar statements were also made by him when he declared it haram for a woman to be the prime minister but later, he joined the Benazir Bhutto government, as Chairman of Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs. It is also said that he supported the Benazir government on account of being given Diesel permits in addition to the ministry.

Recently in a response to a question by an anchor person: whether he will go if summoned by NAB? he made remarks that no one has the guts to issue such a notice against him and the whole JUI-F will surround NAB if he is summoned. How mischievous. His fellow members were also seen dragging the GHQ into politics, quoting that they will gather the GHQ if their chief is defamed further.

When it comes to controlling human beings there is no better instrument than religion and lies. Because, you see, humans live by beliefs. And beliefs can be manipulated. This is clearly happening here.

The question is: if a common citizen is called by the Court on account of any suspicion, why the lords and chiefs cannot hold themselves accountable? Did they have got any prerogative? Aren’t they answerable if required?

Fazal-Ur-Rahman is the real devil. I’m sorry I don’t recognize the white bearded man as a Maulana any more. Religion has merely been a tool for political clerics to fool people in order to gain personal benefits.

Let’s not go deep into the pages of history and remember a few facts from the near past and see the hypocrisy of the JUI-F supreme leader.

    • He ran for the seats of National Assembly in 2018 from DI Khan’s two constituencies, NA-38 & NA-39 but lost.
    • He didn’t accept the results, neither he went to the ECP or Tribunal neither any court with grievances, but later brazenly contested for presidential election and failed badly.
    • He marched towards Islamabad for a sit in against the PTI government and demanded the resignation of the Prime Minister. This is irony that a party holding less than 1% of the voting power, demanded the resignation of an elected prime minister. He badly failed here and shamelessly went to the establishment (which he is accusing now) for a face saving. In a recent interview the expelled member of JUI-F, Hafiz Hussain Ahmad admitted it.
    • After a gap of around two and a half years, MNS claimed the elections had been rigged but the party leaders had not approached any forum such as election tribunal, election commission of Pakistan or courts after the 2018 general elections with the grievances. They started accusing the establishment notwithstanding that PML-N was formed by retired Gen Gilani and forgetting that all previous elections were true and fair, without the involvement of establishment. It is vividly bright that they are trying to make it out with the help of the religious cleric, because the establishment was not their savior this time from their prodigious corruption. Now the JUI-F chief, the chief of the Islamist party is sitting next to the kids of MNS and Zardari in order to escape their accountability. The JUI-F chief and the perpetrators are doing everything in their power to overthrow the government calling it a democratic movement.

In view of the events described and by looking at the political history of JUI-F chief any rational being will realize how hypocritical he is and the fact, how greedy and materialistic he has been and using Islam for personal comforts by playing with the religious sentiments of his innocent followers.

It is a high time now to reconsider our allegiance, not because of religion, color, nationality and sect but because of competence, capability, credibility and most importantly honesty and truthfulness. We shouldn’t wrap our mind around things and fit them into our version of reality. We need to think and to reason.

“Responsibility to yourself means refusing to let others do your thinking, talking, and naming for you; it means learning to respect and use your own brains and instincts; hence, grappling with hard work.” (Adrienne Rich)
