Syed Farid Jan of PTI won the Tehsil council Drosh election by gaining 10902 votes

CHITRAL: In the bye-elections of tehsil chairman of Drosh in Lower Chitral held here on Sunday, Syed Farid Jan of Pakistan Tahreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has won the elections by gaining 10902 votes while his closest rival of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Shaukatul Mulk has obtained 8312 votes.
The polling held in peaceful atmosphere but the turnout of voters was greatly hampered by the incessant rain throughout the day and most of the voters could not move to the polling stations to cast their votes.
Tight security had been arranged in the villages of Arandu, Arsoon, Jinjirate Koh and Damel bordering the Kunar province of Afghanistan where voters polled their votes peacefully.
The seat of tehsil chairman had fallen vacant after the resignation of Shahzada Khalid Parvez of PPP in November last to contest the elections of provincial assembly from Lower Chitral.
