CHITRAL: The body of the kashmir markhor drowning in Chitral river near Chitral Airport here on Sunday morning on being frightened by the people who assembled in the river bank to see it was stuffed for its preservation and will be displayed in public place as trophy.
The divisional forest officer of Chitral Gol National Park wildlife Division, Irshad Ahmed told Chitral Times that the markhor had came down to the river bank from the national park early in the morning passing through the Balach village.
He said that the wild goat had jumped into the river whose body was later retrieved from the water by the watchers of the department near the Chew bridge.
During the current month, it was the third incident of the slipping out of markhor from the national park into the town area while its reason, as stated by the DFO, is said to be that the swarming stray dogs entered the national park and attacked them and they come to ran towards the town.
