Sad demise of Shahzada Mohiuddin
I am deeply grieved on hearing the sad news of the passing away of Shahzada Mohiuddin. This was really tragic news for me because we have been deeply connected for a very long time.
However, there is no way out before the decision of Allah Almighty. I pray that may Allah Almighty grant eternal peace to the departed soul and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss.( إِنَّا ِلِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ )
He was a strong person amongst his entire family and his departure has created a vacuum which cannot easily be fulfilled. Shahzada Mohiuddin was the first educated person among those who did their graduation or Masters at the time of State regime. I was a young student when I first saw Shahzada Mohiuddin – a handsome person dressed in a suit and followed by a number of people walking towards the Qila. I asked my class fellows about this gentleman. At that time, I was told that he was Shahzada Mohiuddin, the son Shehzada of Kalkatak and was holding the portfolio of Secretary Tamiraat. He then became the Deputy Commissioner of Mastuj.
He served the State Government in different capacities holding important portfolios up to 1971, then he resigned from Service and joined politics. He served Chitral as a Chairman District Council, as a Member National Assembly and the Minister of Tourism. He was a strong spokesperson of the people of Chitral. He was fearless and represented us in a proper manner. For his services, we are indebted to him and will not forget his contributions for the development of Chitral and his memory will remain with us for a very long time. He was my well-wisher and always gave great respect to me and I had also a great respect for him. He loved my ancestral home in Pasum and liked spending time there. My family in Pasum join me in conveying the condolences to the bereaved family.
I pray that his sons continue his legacy and serve the people of Chitral.
