    All resources to be mobilized to fight TB and Pakistan is committed to end TB by 2030 in line SDGS. Minister Health

    ISLAMABAD: A high level mission from WHO Headquarters and EMRO (Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office called on Federal Minister National health Services Aamer Mehmood Kiani today. The main objectives of the meeting were to Place TB on high political agenda of the country through the ministry of NHSR&C and to increase commitment of all stakeholders to End TB by 2030. Attract more partners in TB control in Pakistan. Empower affected communities towards ending the TB epidemic in Pakistan. Increase public awareness in the threat of TB. Combat stigma and discrimination against TB patients. Mobilize domestic resources to fight the disease. Reduce catastrophic cost on TB affected families. Minister said TB is one of the priority diseases for prevention and control. Government is fully committed to the SGDs and End TB strategic goals. We are in continuous struggle in setting the strategic directions to find the missing 140 thousand and positioning ourselves to tackle the emerging threat of MDR-TB. Some of the measures have already been taken and some are planned. Minister also talked about IMPROVEMENT IN HEALTH SYSTEMS Structure referral linkages between primary- secondary and tertiary levels of health care delivery and Encourage Public –Private Partnership. Minister informed delegation about revamping the LHW programme to improve community level essential health services. Minister said multisectoral collaboration Linkages will be developed with other line ministries and departments for an effective response regarding TB Control -Adopt ‘One Health’ approach nationally across all sectors for disease control. Promote ‘Health in all Policies’ to address social, environmental and economic determinants of health. Government is expending Health Insurance to all districts of Pakistan to cover the poorest families against catastrophic health expenditure. Ministry has established a national Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR) system for prompt and efficient response during disease outbreaks
