PM’s power relief package widely hailed in Khyber Pakthunkhwa
PESHAWAR (APP): People of all walks of life in Khyber Pakthunkhwa on Thursday highly appreciated the Prime Minister’s power relief package and termed it a significant step forward to promote industrialization and agriculture in the country.
Ikhtair Wali Khan, PM’s aide for Information in KP Affairs said that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has won the hearts and minds of every Pakistani after announcing a historic relief package for the electricity consumers both domestic and industries of the country.
He said that people of Khyber Pakthunkhwa especially traders, businessmen and industries besides agriculturists and farmers would be largely benefited from the package.
On Thursday, the Prime Minister announced a Rs7.41 per unit cut in power rates across the country in a major relief package to reduce the burden on citizens facing exorbitant electricity bills. For industries, the prime minister declared that electricity prices would be cut by Rs7.59.
Ikhtair Wali while congratulation the entire nation especially the people of Khyber Pakthunkhwa and erstwhile Fata here said that Prime Minister and his financial team deserved full credit and appreciation for the mega relief package for entire nation, adding it was not an easy task to convince the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for this power cut in per unit.
He said that the package would help promote industrialization in the country besides providing relief to domestic consumers from Chitral to Karachi and Waziristan to Gilgit.
The sick industries in KP would be revived while infant industries would be encouraged to achieve the much needed growth in an era of perfect competition in the open market.
Muhammad Naeem, former chairman economics department at university of Peshawar has welcomed the PM electricity package and termed it a fresh air for millions of domestic and industrial consumers in Pakistan.
He expressed the hope that people would realize the importance of electricity and will help the Govt in exposing the corrupt power stealers before the masses.
Misal Khan, a retired information officer, Fayaz Khan, a retired PST teacher, Abdul Wadood Khan, a farmer and house wife Taja Bibi have also welcomed the Prime Minister’s relief package and termed it historic. They said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan has put the country on the road to progress and development and deserved full appreciation for the massive relief for the entire nation.
