CHITRAL: The people of Chitral have expressed their concern over the delay in extending the activities of KP Food Security and Halal Food Authority (KPFSHFA) to Chitral where spurious food items including milk and meat are on sale making the lives of consumers vulnerable to diseases.
In a press statement issued here on Saturday, the village nazim of Jughoor, Sajjad Ahmed Khan said that after many years of its establishment, the food authority has yet to make its debut in Chitral as a result of which the people of this backward and marginalized district are the worst sufferers of the bogus food items and there is free for all situation in this area.
He said that that only the opening of an office of KPFSHFA will not suffice but a high-tech laboratory is also unavoidable here for testing the validity of the food stuff specially that of milk, meat, ghee, cooking oil and confectionary.
Mr. Khan said that many items were such that its sample cannot be transported to the laboratories in Peshawar as variance place naturally in its nature especially that of milk and it necessitates the laboratory here.
