    PDWP approved 20 Projects with an estimated cost of Rs. 8176.285 million

    PESHAWAR; The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) held its meeting under the Chairmanship of       Mr. Atif Rehman, the Additional Chief Secretary/Secretary P&D Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 22nd November, 2019. The meeting was attended by members of PDWP, concerned departments and Districts level officers of Merged Areas. The forum considered 21 projects pertaining to different sectors including Agriculture, Home, Higher Education and Health sectors for the uplift of the province and Merged Areas. The forum approved 20 Projects with an estimated cost of Rs. 8176.285 million and 1 project was deferred due to inadequate design and was returned to its respective department for rectification.

    The PDWP has approved 1 projects of Accelerated Implementation Program (AIP) and Ten Years Development Program (TYDP) costing Rs. 945 million.
    This will usher in a new era of development in the merged areas which will help brining it at par with the rest of the province. The Chair directed that as committed, the processing and approval of projects of Accelerated Implementation Programme (AIP) has been given top priority.

    Approved projects of Agriculture sector were:
    1.      Establishment and Construction/Re-Construction of Veterinary Facilities and Provision of De-Wormer Vaccine, Medicine for All Existing Regular Veterinary Institutions in Tribal Districts.

    2.      Creation of Disease Free Zone through Mass Vaccination and Treatment in Feasible Districts on Pilot Basis.
    3.      Opening of 3-Cvds, 23-Vcs, 16-Aics And   Up-Gradation Of 1-Cvd Lakaro To CVH Status, Mohmand Agency
    4.      Opening of 8-Veterinary Centres and 08-Aics IN Fr Lakki.
    5.      Opening of 41 Veterinary Centers, 22 AICs and Upgradation of 01 Cvd to CVH Status in SWA.
    6.      Opening of 3-Cvcs, 09-AICs and Upgradation of 4-Cvds to CVH Status in Orakzai Agency.
    7.      Opening of 05 CVDs, 05 CVCs, O6 AICs, & Up- Gradation of 2 CVDs to CVHs Status Bajaur.
    8.      Opening of 5-Vety Dispensaries, 5-Civil Veterinary Centres, 10 AICs and Upgradation of 01 CVC to CVD in Fr Bannu.
    9.      -Opening of 18 Veterinary  Centers And 26 AICs In Khyber
    10.     Establishment of Semen Production Unit at Jamrud and Breed/Veterinary Improvement In FATA.
    11.     Capacity Building of Livestock Directorate –FATA.
    12.     Establishment of Model Dairy Farm in FATA.
    13.     Promotion of Agriculture and Horticulture Activities in Merged Area.
    14.     Opening of 05 CVCs and 08 CVDs, 22 AICs and Diagnostic Laboratory in Kurram Agency.
    15.     Provision for purchase of earth moving machinery for Land
    Reclamation in Merged Areas.

    Approved project of Home sector was:
    .16.     Torkham Border Operation System through FIA & NADRA in District Khyber.

    Approved projects of Higher Education sector were:
    17.     Rehabilitation & Strengthening of Government Colleges in District Swat and Tank
    18.     Construction of Building for Commerce College near GPI at Karak (Rev).
    .19.     Provision of transport facilities to higher educational facilities (operational cost through third party transport providers)

    Approved project of Health sector was:
    20.     Improvement & Standardization of DHQ Hospital, Mardan (Phase-III)
