ISLAMABAD: In future there will be clearance of vessels, drill ships and helicopter without levy of any duty or charge whatsoever including custom duty. This dispensation is extended to all companies and joint venture partners who are party to any Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) with our Government for off shore petroleum exploration and production activities. ENI along with Exxon Mobil will start drilling of an ultra-deep well in Kekra I this month and will be executed within a specific weather window. The equipment of both companies comprise of 3 platform supply vessels (PSVs), 2 helicopters,1 drill ship. After this step of government, no custom duty will be applied on this equipment. This step will open new doors for multi-national companies in Pakistan.
