    NAVTTC and Government of Gilgit Baltistan join Forces to Elevate Technical Education

    ISLAMABAD: On September 27th, 2023, the National Vocational & Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in GB. This collaboration commitment of both entities to empower the youth of GB by providing them with access to skills development programs. The MoU seeks to make TVET accessible to a diverse range of individuals, including underprivileged communities, thereby opening doors to employment, self-employment, and international opportunities.

    This initiative is in line with NAVTTC’s vision of empowering youth with skills and contributing to national development. During the signing ceremony, Mr. Amir Jan, the Executive Director NAVTTC, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, “Today’s MoU signing is a historic milestone in our journey to enhance TVET in GB. By joining hands with the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan, we are creating opportunities for our youth to acquire employable skills that will not only transform their lives but also drive progress in the region and the nation.”

    The MoU outlines key objectives, including strengthening the TVET infrastructure, identifying employable trades, fostering partnerships with local employers, and promoting recognition of prior learning. Mr. Mohu-ud-din wani Chief Secretary, GB appreciated pay gratitude to NAVTTC strengthen the TVET Sector & focusing on youth skill development.
