PESHAWAR: NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has formally initiated probe against Captain (R) Muhammad Safdar, Member National Assembly into Rs. 2 Billion Corruption case on the direction of Chairman NAB, Justice Javaid Iqbal.
As per details, a complaint was lodged against Captain (R) M Safdar at National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by the resident of his constituency NA 21 District Mansehra Hazara Division. The complainant identified massive corruption in funds allocated by the Federal Govt for the developmental schemes in NA 21 Hazara division. It is alleged that 3 billion rupees funds were allocated by the federal government for developmental projects. Being the Son-in Law of Ex-Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, he has influence on all federal government departments. It is further alleged that Captain Safdar MNA virtually runs the affairs of departments such as PAK-PDW in his constituency. Using his influence and in connivance with several officials of Pak-PWD, he not only launched many ghost schemes but also awarded contract to his handpicked cronies and embezzled around Rs. 2 Billion through these hoax and ghost.
NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is actively pursuing the preliminary inquiry, more alarming facts are surfacing.
