PESHAWAR: NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today arrested accused Dildar Muhammad Danish, Ex-Deputy Commissioner Shangla presently working as Additional Deputy Commissioner Mardan, accused Muhammad Mansoor Haider, TMO Tehsil Purn, accused Imdadullah TOI, accused Raja Usman Ali, Tehsil Nazim Puran, Muhammad Hanif, Contractor and Yousaf Khan Senior Clerk. They are allegedly involved in corruption & corrupt practices and embezzled funds allocated for rehabilitation of infrastructure of flood damages in District Shangla in the year 2016.
As per details, Deputy Commissioner Shangla received more than 537 Million from PDMA for rehabilitation of infrastructure damaged caused by flood due to rains in April, 2016. TMA’s of Alpuri & Purna Tehsils used the names of contractors as eyewash embezzled, more than 100 Million through fake accounts and fake bills. The Deputy Commission after six months of flood / rain illegally extended the emergency without any authority and in connivance with Assistant Director Local Government issued 14 Million without any codal formalities. Record transpires that the than executing agencies were at the same time acting as executors, contractors regulators and beneficiaries. The funds allocated for rehabilitation ultimately landed back in the hands of officials and Nazims through fake bills and factitious bank accounts and thereby misappropriated. ¬¬¬
NAB KP is vigorously pursuing the case, more arrests are on card. The accused persons will be presented in the Accountability Court Peshawar for obtaining their physical remand.
