PESHAWAR: The Regional Board Meeting (RBM) of National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held under the chairmanship of Brig (R) Farooq Naser Awan, Director General NAB (KP) at Peshawar. The meeting was attended by Directors, Additional Directors, Case Officers, Senior Legal Consultants and other concerned officers. Several important decisions were taken in the meeting.
The board authorized an inquiry against Agency Surgeon, North Waziristan Agency regarding corruption and corrupt practices. He is allegedly involved in embezzlement of funds allocated for purchase of medicines worth Rs. 22.17 Million.
Second inquiry was authorized Officers / Officials of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development & Management Company (KPEZDMC) for corruption & corrupt practices and misuse of authority. The subjects are alleged to be involved in non-compliance with Public Sector Companies (Corporate Governance) Rules, 2013. They are further alleged misappropriation of public money through lavish expenditures, misuse of authority in illegal appointments and tempering tenders against KPPRA Rules.
Third inquiry was authorized against Officers / Officials of FATA Secetariat / FATA Development Authority (FDA) regarding corruption and corruption practice & misuse of authority. They are allegedly involved illegal appointment in different cadres without adopting codal formalities.
Besides these, the Board recommended conversion of inquiry into investigation against Officers / Officials of Provincial Housing Authority Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for approval of Chairman NAB. During the course of inquiry irregularities / illegalities were found in appointment in various cadres.
At the end, Director General NAB (KP) Brig (R) Farooq Naser Awan requested general public to join hands with NAB (KP) for eradication of corruption from the Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
