PESHAWAR: The Regional Board Meeting (RBM) of National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held under the chairmanship of Brig (R) Farooq Naser Awan, Director General NAB (KP) at Peshawar. The meeting was attended by Directors, Additional Directors, Case Officers, Senior Legal Consultants and other concerned officers. Several important decisions were taken in the meeting.
The board recommended filing of reference in Accountability Courts against Tariq Hayat Khan, Ex-DG GDA and others for corruption & corrupt practices and misuse of authority. As per evidence available, the accused persons have illegally allotted precious plots at Galliyat in violation of laws and rules causing huge loss to national exchequer.
The board authorized an inquiry against officers and officials of Revenue Department, Forest Department Agriculture Department Upper Dir. The accused people have embezzled Rs. 120 million by criminally increasing the estimation of compensation of 250 kanals land acquired. Further, they have also falsely shown expensive trees on the premises. Another inquiry was authorized against Medical Centers/Plazas Mardan. The accused person have criminally constructed plaza in violation of approved maps in complete contradiction with laws and rules causing a huge loss to National Exchequer.
The board also approved reference against Muhammad Shareef, Ex-Town Nazim regarding accumulation of Assets beyond Known Sources of income. Evidence collected by investigation team shows that the accused person has accumulated assets worth Rs 119 million.
At the end, Director General NAB (KP) Brig (R) Farooq Naser Awan expressed his resolve to eradicate of corruption from the Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through accountability regime.
