CHITRAL: The mechanical test of the first unit of Golen Gol hydro power station has started here on Tuesday in which the proper functioning with desired accuracy of turbine and its accessories were put to thorough examination and found in satisfactory initially.
The project director Javed Afridi told Chitral Times here on Tuesday that the mechanical test will continue for yet another day while electrical test of the generator will follow it which may take yet a couple of days.
He said that on successful testing of both the stages, the transmission lines upto the Chitral Grid Station will be energized and the consumers of PESCO will start getting electricity during the testing period.
