    KP Govt. released its one-year performance report

    PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has released its one-year performance report, highlighting significant achievements in the education sector under the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
    According to the report, 183 government colleges have been equipped with 10 KVA solar systems, leading to an estimated annual savings of PKR 100 million in electricity bills. Public sector universities in the province received PKR 4.5 billion in grants, while 11 new colleges were established at a cost of PKR 3.6 billion. Additionally, PKR 922 million was allocated for a technology park at the Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Institute, and PKR 72 million was distributed among 27 research projects under the Higher Education Research Endowment Fund.

    To support female education, the Insaf Female Education Endowment Fund was allocated PKR 2 billion, covering tuition fees for 51,500 female and orphan students in government colleges. Furthermore, the Chief Minister’s Education Endowment Fund received PKR 1.3 billion to expand scholarship programs. Three government colleges were upgraded with state-of-the-art laboratories and infrastructure through an investment of PKR 2.93 billion, introducing applied sciences programs in artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, gaming, and robotics.


    The KP government established 37 new primary schools and upgraded 54 schools, including 25 primary schools to middle schools, 13 middle schools to high schools, and 16 high schools to higher secondary schools. Additionally, 113 dysfunctional schools were rehabilitated and reconstructed, and 831 schools in both settled and merged districts were solar-powered.
    The report further highlights that 734 new classrooms were built, three model schools were established, and 32,000 female students in merged districts received scholarships.

    The government allocated PKR 130 million to provide free education for students from merged districts in Army Public Schools.
    As part of enrollment initiatives, 800,000 children were admitted to government schools, 600 community schools were set up for girls, and 640 alternative learning centers were established. Additionally, 45 new double-shift schools were introduced to accommodate more students. Teacher training also remained a priority, with 3,000 teachers receiving advanced training and 10,985 teachers enrolled in the registration program. The government rehabilitated 560 flood-damaged schools and, for the first time, established a girls’ cadet college in the southern districts of the province.
