    KP Govt. likely to allocate Rs379.99bn for development program in budget 2022-23

    PESHAWAR :  The Khyber Pakthunkhwa government is likely to allocate Rs379.99 billion for its annual development program in budget 2022-23 including Rs310.895 billion for settled districts and Rs69.970 billion for merged tribal districts.

    Out of the total 2,194 development projects, Khyber Pakthunkhwa government would complete 2,128 projects through its own resources and 66 projects through foreign assistance. Likewise, Rs93.1880 billion would be received under head of foreign assistance and loans.

    Official sources in KP government told APP that Rs41.80 billion were proposed for the local government while KP government would spend Rs185 billion through its own resources. The development budget for fiscal year 2022-23 is Rs63.4370 billion more than of the ongoing fiscal year budget.

    In budget 2022-23, he said highest Rs60.39 billion were proposed for construction of roads, Rs48.39 billion for multi sector development program, Rs41.80billion for local government, Rs28.78 billion for energy and power, Rs28.78 billion for health, Rs20.51 billion for elementary and secondary education and Rs20.360 billion for irrigation projects.

    Likewise, Rs19.69 billion were proposed for sports, tourism, youth affairs and archeology, , Rs18.2310 billion for finance, Rs15.7650 billion for agriculture, Rs12.49 billion for drinking water/sanitation and Rs8.4360 billion for higher education.

    Similarly, Rs7.930 billion were proposed for development of transport, Rs6.4860 for local bodies and rural development, Rs4.2120 billion for rehabilitation and resettlement, Rs4.1450 billion for forestry, Rs3.850 billion for industries, Rs3.29 billion for law and justice, Rs3.1580 billion for home department, Rs1.5890 billion for social welfare and Rs1.5370 billion for Information Technology.

    Likewise, Rs1.3790 billion would estimated to be allocated for board of revenue, Rs1.1430 billion for aukaf, religious and minorities affairs, Rs875million for population welfare, Rs668 million for housing, 500 million for public private partnership, Rs421 million for establishment and administration, Rs413 million for food, Rs381 million for labour, Rs380 million for information, Rs359 million for mines and mineral development, Rs191 million for excise and taxation and Rs47 million for environment.

    The official said all budget proposals were given financial shape before its presentation in the budget session of KP assembly. He said maximum relief would be provided to people and raises of salaries and pensions of government employees were expected. (APP)
