    Chitral Times Report

CHITRAL: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), in collaboration with the Relief, Rehabilitation, and Settlement Department (RR&SD) and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), has started a major food distribution initiative to assist vulnerable communities in KP and its merged districts.

This effort marks the first cycle of the Food Security Support Project for 2024-25 in Pakistan, reaching 15 districts across KP. So far, approximately 5,700 food packages have been distributed in districts such as Kurram IDPs, Hangu, Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, Shangla, Upper Kohistan, Torghar, Upper Dir, and Lower Chitral. The remaining 4,300 packages are set to be delivered soon in Upper Chitral, Battagram, Haripur, Swat, Lower Dir, Bannu, and Buner.

Each food package weighs 95 kilograms and includes essential supplies such as 80 kilograms of flour, 5 liters of cooking oil, 5 kilograms of sugar, and 5 kilograms of lentils (Daal Chana). The distribution process is being carried out transparently, in coordination with district and local authorities, with support from KSrelief’s implementing partner, the Peace and Development Organization (PADO).

KSrelief remains dedicated to addressing food insecurity and improving the lives of those in need, reaffirming its global commitment to providing humanitarian assistance to vulnerable communities.
