Khidmat Markaz to fill the gap between police and the public in Chitral
CHITRAL: The acting district police officer, Lower Chitral, Abdul Sattar has said that the khidmat markaz established in the district police lines has reduced the distance between the police and the public where different facilities are made available to the people under one-window operation.
Briefing the local journalists about the khidmat markaz, he said that the markaz consisted of six different sections where different services were made available to the public which included command and control room, ababeel squad control room, license section, traffic education centre, police assistance lines and gender response centre.
He said that from the command and control office, a vehicle entering the district after emerging from the Lowari tunnel will be monitored from the control room till it reaches the city enabling the force to control and detect the criminals from the other districts.
The DPO said that the command and control system established last year, had greatly helped to reduce the number of thefts and robberies in the city after the culprits were successfully traced with the help of close circuit cameras.
He said that the Kalash valley of Bumburate had already been connected to the control room to give a fool proof security to the tourists which was imperative to ensure larger influx of visitors.
He said that the control room of ababeel squad, mobilizes its riders to the trouble spot to give a brisk and rapid response in the cases of accidents, disasters and crimes of different nature and it has brought a great relief to large number of people.
Mr. Sattar said that the gender response centre has proved a great source of relief and consolation to the women in distress or falling victim to domestic violence, brutalities or injustice wile since the inception of this facility, the number of suicide cases among women has reduced drastically.
He said that the aggrieved women dashed to the centre without hesitation because here women officer is deployed with her supporting women constable and it makes the women to feel free to tell their tales of woe.
