    Kamyab Jawan Programme signs MoU with UNFPA for cooperation in young people’s health, well-being and empowerment

    ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan Programme signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for cooperation in formulation and implementation of population development strategies. The MoU aims at strengthening institutional mechanisms to integrate youth voices into national development policies and processes. Muhammad Usman Dar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs said that the cooperation would help a great deal in accelerating implementation of the National Youth Development Framework; including the establishment of National Youth Foundation. He further said that assistance from UNFPA will be instrumental in mobilizing technical assistance in constructing a new district representative youth developmental index. “The collaboration will also help in ensuring youth-centered policy and programme development and implementation. This will support our government’s priority area of youth development in Pakistan’, expressed Mr. Dar. Muhammad Usman Dar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs and Ms. Lina Mousa, Country Representative, UNFPA, signed the MoU. Ms. Lina Mousa said that the partnership will provide an invaluable opportunity to strengthen institutional mechanism and national capacities on young people’s health and rights. “When young people are actively engaged and involved, they are able to build important life-skills, develop knowledge on human rights and promote action”, said Ms. Lina Mousa.
