    A  group of Ambassadors visits AKRSP Projects in Laspur valley

    CHITRAL: Group of Ambassadors including Australian High Commissioner H.E Ms Margaret Anned Adanson, Swiss Deptuy Ambassador H.E Mr. BernahardFurger, Austrian Ambassador H.E. DrBrigittaBlaha, Consounler and Head of Cooperation Canadian High Commission Mr. Deniel Joly, Additional Sec. foreign Affairs Mr. ZaheerJanjua, CEO AKF Mr. Akhtar Iqbal, SirjaulMulk of Hindukush Heights and GM AKRSP Mr. Muzaffar Uddin visited AKRSP WES project interventions in Laspur valley. The guest inaugurated Heritage Museum Laspur and showed great interest in the artifacts displayed in the museum. The gathering was attended by community representatives and AKRSP field staff including project manager Imtiaz Ahmed and Abdullah Aslam from Laajverd Pakistan. Manzoor Ali Shah and AmirullahYaftali welcomed the guests and briefed about the community based interventions. Mr. Siraj UlMulk said that this museum is one of the best things that happened to Laspur valley in the recent days. Swiss Deptuy Ambassador H.E Mr. BernahardFurger said that he is very glad to see good things happening in the remote areas of Pakistan and Swiss Govt is glad to be part of it. CEO AKF Mr. Akhtar Iqbal thanked the guests for their visit and trust in AKDN agencies. Atta Ur Rehman, Coordinator AKRSP WES project briefed the guests about AKRSP’s AKRSP’s interventions in Laspur valley for promoting ecotourism in the valley including establishment of Heritage Museum Laspur and Laspur Ecotourism Enterprise Group. Abdullah Aslam briefed about the traditional design of the museum.

    After visit to the museum the guests attended Shandoor Polo final match and on the way back visited 500 KW MHP operational under WES II project of AKRSP where a huge number of community people were present. Manzoor Ali Shah, Director Shandoor UC, briefed about Shandoor Utility Company and pre-paid meter system in his detailed presentation.

    The guests very much praised the culture and peace in Chitral and left Laspur by evening.
